There were many Northern Leopard Frogs along the trails at Hawkeye Wildlife Management Area. The issue was getting close enough to take a picture of one before it jumped into the weeds. If you look closely, I accidently photo-bombed this shot.

I almost stepped on this Eastern Garter Snake lying in the deep grass in the middle of a trail at Wickiup Hill Natural Area. It let me get down and close to get this portrait picture.

This Eastern Garter Snake was along the side of the trail at Wickiup Hill Natural Area. It has nearly half digested its previous meal.
